Day 1: Return to Me
“Yet even now,” says Yahweh, “turn to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning.” So rend your hearts and not your garments, and return to the LORD your God. For He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in loving devotion. And He relents from sending disaster.
Lent begins with returning to God with all the heart.
“‘Yet even now,’ declares the Lord, ‘return to me with all your heart…’ Rend your hearts and not your garments.”
What return is God asking of you?
Practice: Rend your heart in honest confession. Lord, I return to You. Amen.
